What to bring to your first meeting

Your first meeting is a fact-finding meeting designed to help your planner get a solid understanding of your current financial picture. To help him or her, here’s a handy guide to the information you should bring with you.

In order to complete the financial analysis, any of the following that apply to your situation should be brought to the meeting:
[cs_icon_list][cs_icon_list_item icon=”fa-check”]Copies of your most recent personal and corporate tax returns along with the assessment notices from CCRA confirming the returns, showing any outstanding items, and your RRSP contribution limits.[/cs_icon_list_item][cs_icon_list_item icon=”fa-check”]Copies of recent statements for your registered and non-registered investment as will as the most recent statement for your chequing account.[/cs_icon_list_item][cs_icon_list_item icon=”fa-check”]Copies of the last assessment notice for any real estate you may own.[/cs_icon_list_item][cs_icon_list_item icon=”fa-check”]Copies of any existing Wills, Power of Attorney appointments and Business Agreements.[/cs_icon_list_item][cs_icon_list_item icon=”fa-check”]Copies of existing property and casualty insurance policies including your home, condo and car insurance.[/cs_icon_list_item][cs_icon_list_item icon=”fa-check”]Copies of any existing personal life, disability and critical illness policies.[/cs_icon_list_item][cs_icon_list_item icon=”fa-check”]If you are a member of an employee benefit plan, a copy of the benefit booklet.[/cs_icon_list_item][cs_icon_list_item icon=”fa-check”]If you are a member of an employee pension plan, a copy of recent pension statements.[/cs_icon_list_item][cs_icon_list_item icon=”fa-check”]Your statements from the Canada Pension Plan.[/cs_icon_list_item][cs_icon_list_item icon=”fa-check”]List of any outstanding debts including credit cards, lines of credit and mortgages.
